About William

A young boy with dark hair and brown eyes smiling, wearing a light blue shirt, outdoors with colorful flowers and green foliage in the background.

My name is William Aryana and I live with my family in California. When I was nine years old, my world was turned upside down when I learned that my beloved grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer. During this rocky journey, my family’s deep affection and support helped me cope with my grandmother’s illness and passing, as I came to find out that my father was also at risk of developing the same dreadful disease. Even though this was a scary time for me, I promised not to despair or lose hope. But instead, I made the decision to get involved by sharing my story, to reach out to adults and children just like me, to raise awareness and promote education and advocacy on prevention and screening for colon cancer.
